We miss the gravity of the coming Great Tribulation. The vision was so disturbing to Daniel he mourned for three weeks; he could not eat nor care for his own appearance. The Great Tribulation is a terrible time on earth--millions, more likely billions of people will die. So horrendous was the vision that Satan tried to stop the messenger from bringing the message to Daniel (Daniel 10:13-14). Daniel receives more visions, culminating in a visit from the angel Gabriel. Gabriel's message? God will successfully accomplish His total plan for Israel during a specified number of years. The number will involve "seventy weeks" of seven for a total of 490 years, beginning with the comand to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. The years will fall into three categories: [ 92 more words ] http://mybiblereadingplan.org/2019/04/16/daniel-71-927-april-16/
A second dream comes to Nebuchadnezzar and he asks Daniel to interpret it. This time it is personally related to the king. A time of dread is about to come upon the king, all he must do to avert it is to live "righteously and humble himself." For someone in power that may be easier said than done. The king spoke saying, "Is this not great Babylon, that… [ 223 more words ] http://mybiblereadingplan.org/2019/04/15/daniel-41-628-april-15/
Daniel is taken captive in Babylonia and bravely he refuses to eat the king's food--yet he prospers. Daniel is able to not only interpret the king's dream, but describe it (a great statue) in detail. The dream is a panoramic overview of history and the statue represents great kingdoms of the world, culminating in the Kingdom of our Lord. The world may seem out of control, but God has it firmly in His hands. [ 61 more words ] http://mybiblereadingplan.org/2019/04/14/daniel-11-330-april-14/

The book of Joel is about current (in Joel's day) events, and future events. There seems to be three future "days" prophesied throughout the little book: The day of Pentecost (2:28-32). The day of the Lord--a title for the Great Tribulation (2:1-21; 3:1-16). The day of Christ--a title for the Millennium (The thousand year reign of Christ on earth, also known as the Kingdom) (2:22-27; 3:17-21) [ 228 more words ] http://mybiblereadingplan.org/2019/04/13/joel-11-321-april-13/
When Jesus returns and sets up His literal Kingdom of the world, Jerusalem will be its capital. Today we think of Jersusalem as a small parcel of land. But Isaiah and Zechariah speak of great geological changes in Israel (A big remodeling job!). It is not impossible to imagine a 2,500 square mile area for the temple and city fitted into a reshaped and enlarged land ( [ 112 more words ] http://mybiblereadingplan.org/2019/04/12/ezekiel-461-ezekiel-4835-april-12/
How we interpret the Bible at Hope Now Bible Church. Part 1. 1. We Apply a literal-grammatical-historical interpretation to all of the Bible. This is the most important point for Christians to understand when reading and applying passages of Scripture. A literal interpretation involves recognizing the historical situation of the passage. Who was the intended audience? What were the circumstances in which the passage was written to address? The temptation for a pastor is to allegorize. Allegorizing is a popular approach in many churches. The father of allegorizing was a guy named Philo of Alexandria (20 B.C. to 50 A.D). For example, he would take Genesis 2:11-14, which talks about four rivers in Eden--the Pishon, the Gihon, the Tigris and the Euphrates--and he would supply them with a higher, more spiritual sounding meaning. The higher meaning, he said, is that these rivers really represent four parts of the soul. When you hear an allegorist, initially, he sounds much more spiritual and academic. This method of interpretation appears to give us a more spiritual understanding--a higher meaning--of the text. After all, who wants to hear a sermon about geography and the rivers that flowed through Eden? That's boring!* We hear much of this kind of preaching today. It contains many good ideas. It may even make you feel good! But it leaves us asking (or should): Where in the world is the allegorical interpreter or preacher getting this information? When you read the Bible, read it in its literal sense. "When the plain sense of Scripture makes common sense, seek no other sense." Next time...the dangers of Allegorization. *adapted from: Dr. Andy Woods, Ever Reforming, Dispensational Publishing House, inc.2018 Grant Hawley and Jeremy Edmondson, Let the Text Speak. The fact that there will be animal sacrifices in the Kingdom has caused varying opinions. Dr. John Whitcomb writes extensively on the subject1, "Before the heavens and the earth flee away from him who sits upon the Great White Throne (Revelation 20:11), God will provide a final demonstration of the validity of animal sacrifices as an instructional and disciplinary instrument for Israel. To underscore the literalness of this passage, the LORD Himself speaks to Ezekiel in 43:6 saying, "This is the place of My throne and the place of the soles of My feet, where I dwell in the midst of the children of Israel forever." That literal statement alone is strong support that we do not live in the Kingdom today. Notice the present tense, "where I dwell"? Do not be afraid of the next eight chapters of Ezekiel, beginning with chapters 40 and 41 today. The key to interpreting God's Word properly is to understand it in a normal, literal way. It is only when passages are spiritualized that confusion sets in. God did not give any portion of His Word to confuse us. Therefore, take joy in today's passages and the chapters in Ezekiel that will follow. [ 162 more words ] http://mybiblereadingplan.org/2019/04/09/ezekiel-401-4126/
"Kingdom now" theology has a negative impact upon one's view of ecclesiology or the doctrine of the church. "Advancing the Kingdom" theology confuses God's original purpose for the church in at least five fundamental ways. 1. The church will no longer see itself as a mere pilgrim passing through Satan's domain. Rather, it will begin to view itself as being at home in the world. 2. The church will begin to embrace a holistic gospel that focuses upon altering societal structures rather than the salvation of souls. 3. The church will forge alliances with groups that do not share its core biblical convictions so as to foster the political alliance necessary in order to usher in a "kingdom now" agenda. 4. The church will also cease emphasizing Bible prophecy. 5. The church will involve itself in building Satan's kingdom rather than God's kingdom. Woods, Andrew M. Do you know what the only hope is for the Believer in Jesus Christ? It is His glorious appearing in the Rapture of the Church. It's what all churches should be talking about and encouraging each other with, 1 Thessalonians 4:18.
Here is what it means to be "Dispensational" 1. Interpret the Bible literally. 2. The Church is not Israel. 3. The Lord Jesus will return bodily to earth and reign on David’s throne for one thousand years. 4. The underlying purpose of God’s dealings with the world is His glory. 5. The Christian is free from the law in its entirety for both justification and sanctification.

Ezekiel 38 and 39 predict an end-times attack on Israel. The attack will come from nine Islamic nations (perhaps others) which are identified for us in the passage. There are many views as to when this attack will take place. Considering all of the evidence it may be the best view is that the attack will begin (chapter 38) with the opening of the Second Seal in… [ 77 more words ] http://mybiblereadingplan.org/2019/04/08/ezekiel-381-ezekiel-3929-april-8/
